Dewey wants to compile a Weekly Geeks big best of 2008 list!
Your WG theme is to list your top books published in 2008
1. Compile your list of favorites. Please be sure that books you choose actually were published in 2008, or at the very earliest in the winter holiday season of 2007. Sometimes books that come out then are left out.
2. Come back and sign Mr Linky with the url to your top books of 2008 post.
I am always so behind on my reading that I don't read all that many brand new books each year, but I have a read a few that I really liked and will list!
The Blue Star by Tony Early
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
An Incomplete Revenge by Jacqueline Winspear
Laughing Without an Accent by Firoozeh Dumas
There's No Place Like Here by Cecelia Ahern

I too thought The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was good. 2008 has been a good year for books.
I loved The Blue Star too but took it off my list just to get my list down to 12. A few of the ones you have listed are on my wishlist, I will have to check ou the others.
I haven't read any of those, but they all sound interesting. :)
i haven't ready any of the five you've listed. but i do have The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on my to-read list because i've heard such good things about it.
I've heard such good things about The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society that it's already on my wishlist. I hadn't heard of There's No Place Like Here, but I've read (and loved) Ahern's Rosie Dunn books and I have P.S. I Love You on my bookshelf (somewhat) patiently waiting its turn to be read ;o). Great list!
The Potoato peel book seems like a favourite one with most.
Do check my short list
wasn't sure about There's no place like here - I think it required to much of a leap to understand what she wanted the place to be. It's because of that book that I've left her latest on the shelf at the store! I loved PS I love You though.
I haven't read any of those either!
I have The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on my wishlist, I cannot wait to get it :)
I've seen The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society on so many lists; I really need to add it to my TBR pile!
