Shortly after the news of Dewey's passing much discussion began about all the ways we could honor the friend we had in her. One of the ideas was to have a book challenge in her name.
Chris from Stuff Dreams Are Made Of and Robin from A Fondness For Reading have put together this great challenge. Thanks for stepping up and doing this.
Not only is it a challenge in her name, but involves the participants in reading from the vast number of books Dewey reviewed on her blog over the past 6 years!
There are two levels-
1. To read one book from each year she blogged.
2. To read any 5 books from her blog.
There is a blog that has been created to host the challenge and you can find it here at Dewey's Books.
I have spent some time combing through the archives over at Dewey's blog. I did not realize she had been blogging for so long. As I browsed around I was pleased to find 5 books that I would love to read! (I am picking level 2)
Here is my list:
1. The Road-finished
(her review: June 23,2007)
2. The Squirrel Mother by Megan Kelso -finished
(her review:September 2007)
3.Coraline by Neil Gaiman-finished
(her review : October 2007)
4.Chocolat by Joanne Harris-finished
(her review :October 2007)
5. Mr.Pip by Lloyd Jones -finished
(her review : December 2007)

I am definitely going to participate in this challenge. Thanks for setting it up.
Thanks for joining Kim! I had no idea that people were planning this already! I hope I didn't step on anyone's toes :/ That's a great idea about reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog...nice touch!
Nice idea. I have The Elegance of the Hedgehog on reserve at my public library. And three of the five you've chosen fall into the category that I read so I'll have no problem coming up with good choices from her lists I think. Count me in.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention! I will be joining. I like your list, too.
Great list. Good idea about reading the last book she was reading. Good Luck.
