the geeks are back!

With the new year, we have a new weekly geeks event. In the memory of Dewey, the original founder of this weekly event, some great people in the book blogging community have worked to bring this event back after her sudden passing, last fall.

This is what we should do this week:

In the spirit of the amazing community building that Dewey was so good at, tell us about your favorite blogs, the ones you have bookmarked or subscribe to in your Google Reader, that you visit on a regular basis. Tell us what it is about these blogs that you love, that inspire or educate you or make you laugh. Be sure to link to them so we can find them too.

There are so many wonderful people out here in the book blogging community who have such fun, informative, encouraging, inviting, funny and beautiful blogs. Some of my favorites are on my sidebar to the right---I try to visit most of these at least every couple of days--although I must admit to being a bad commenter--something I am hoping to work on this year. These blogs are on my sidebar for the very reasons mentioned above in the instructions for this week. So if you are looking for some great blogs to visit, the ones on my sidebar all come highly recommended!
