Still sizzling....

...Seattle is cooking! For the first time since weather records have been kept in the city Seattle will hit 101 degrees! It is likely to be even hotter where I live, in a suburb south of the city. This kind of heat is awful, but I am thankful for AC at work.

I am having a terrible reading month too! I am thinking of just skimming the rest of The Year of Fog and moving on to something else. I am reading about 20 pages a night and then falling asleep. It isn't that it is a bad book, I just haven't connected with it, and it is slow going.

Off to work--hope to post something more exciting later.

  1. I feel your pain! I lived on Mercer Island when I was younger and we NEVER knew temps even close to that! We were lucky if we made it in the 80's!

I returned home from a month long vacation (all through the Rockies) to 118 degrees here in Phoenix!! Well, it's a "dry heat!, haha, I swear my eyeballs are burning! How I love my A/C :)

I'm with you - try another book if you're lagging with Year of the Fog. You need something to take your mind off the heat!! May you find your perfect book.....

  3. Oh my goodness, and you don't have AC at home? Good grief! We had a lot of 100 and over days in June, but we have an air conditioning system. I cannot imagine how hot it is without central air. You poor thing!

Hope it cools off for you guys soon :)

  4. My reading is exactly the same as yours. I am wondering if it is because the kids are off school. I don't have time to blog during the day, so I am doing it in the evening, then only getting to read about 20 pages at bedtime before I drop off.

I really do feel for you with that heat. I would just want to sleep all day.

  5. We live with this heat in Calif all year long but it's a real B when you aren't used to it.

Hey, I wanted to say that out of all the blog backgrounds you've had, I like this one the best! LOL.
