Potter Mania!

Seriously?
How can it be over 20 days since I last posted?? Time is not my friend.
I am currently being consumed by Harry Potter--about 200 more pages of book #6. I just may make my goal of having them all read before the movie release in November. :o)

When I am not working, or reading Harry Potter, I can be found knitting. After finishing my first little garment, a vest, for Lyddie, I decided it was time for an even bigger project so I started a little dress for her.

Since I was kind of hoping to be reading Harry Potter #7 for the read-a-thon I may be able to squeeze a different book in before the start of that event. I anticipate finishing #6 this weekend. Sam is all excited to read along with me again, and I will take it! Who knows how many more times this teenage man/child will want to spend a day reading with his mama?

Today I came home from work early because of a cold I have been battling. It appears to be trying its darndest to move into my chest which I am not too keen on. I had hoped to read a bit, but fell asleep right away. Guess that is what my body needed.

Carry on my friends--until I finish the Potter series, I just don't have that much book stuff to blog about! I do anticipate being around more once I accomplish my goal!

Hello again. Hello.

Oh my goodness how I have missed my blog! Life just never seems to slow down!
What could be keeping me so busy? Well....in general terms, life. But specifically......
  • Work
  • School starting again--and even though I only have 1 in school now, it seems to be as crazy busy and expensive as when I had multiple kids. My baby, Sam, is now a high schooler!
  • Austen--is attending community college for one more year before transferring to University--so he is around here still and needing our parental support.
  • Andrew leaves for China again, this Saturday! Yikes, it seems like just yesterday when we were anticipating his July arrival home to us. I am sad to see him go--so far and for so long.
  • Sarah--my oldest child, mother to our beautiful Lyddie has just announced to us that she is pregnant again!!! Yes! Grandma x2 for me. Her two babes will just be 18 months apart. I anticipate lots of support giving on our part for her this upcoming 9 months! She is already so very tired.
I have been reading-- Harry Potter!!! Man those books are so long, but so entertaining. My goal is to get them read before the new movie comes out in November. I just started #5. Because of this Potter streak, I am falling way behind on my challenges for the year, and I am just going to have to be alright with that. There is always next year to join up again for many of them. (I hope)
Knitting--still is a new hobby that is kind of addicting for me. I really enjoy it but alas, it does take away some of my reading time.

Sam was just talking to me about the read-a-thon coming up and expressed a desire to participate again. I am hoping we can!

How are all of you? I hope to start visiting you all again and catching up with all that is happening in your worlds!

I will leave you with a couple of pictures of Lyddie--wearing the pumpkin hat I just finished knitting for her:
