Holiday Reading and Looking Forward....

Yes--I know. It has been ages since I last posted and the only real reason I can give for it is that I have been in a reading slump. Ever since finishing the Harry Potter series, I haven't really found any books that I really, really enjoyed.

I had high hopes for finishing my 2010 challenges, but now, I am thinking of dumping them and starting fresh in January. I have some Christmas books I have wanted to read for a couple of years, and now that it is almost December, my house is all decorated, and there is a Christmas challenge I feel that maybe some Christmas fun might be just what I need!

So, my last challenge of the year will be The Christmas Spirit Reading Challenge, hosted by Michelle, here.
The books I am thinking of reading are:

  • 'Tis the Season by Lorna Landvik--Finished
  • Blue Christmas by Mary Kay Andrews--Finished

How about you? Do you have any holiday books lined up to read?

As I was decking the halls today, I took a few breaks and began to peruse some of the challenges being announced for 2011 and I have picked out a few to look at more closely. The first one is my favorite of the year and is the first challenge I ever signed up for nearly 4 years ago. I believe it was the first challenge I finished in 2010!
Hosted by Beth Fish Reads, click on the button to read her challenge blog. Great fun...

  • A book with jewelry or a gem in the title: With This Ring, I'm Confused by Kristen Billerbeck
  • A book with a number in the title: The Year is '42 by Nella Bielski
  • A book with travel or movement in the title: Drifting by Stephanie Gertler
  • A book with evil in the title: Dragon Bones by Lisa See ( I know this one is a stretch and will probably be replaced with something else---;) )
  • A book with a life stage in the title: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne

I know there are others I will sign up for, but will save those for a later post.
Happy Reading!
