Year of Projects

Happy March!
This past week brought a big change to my life. I began working 4, 10 hour days with Fridays off. It was great and I loved it on many levels, but it did cut into my computer time. After being on the computer for 10 hours, I really didn't want to be on it some more when I got home. I hope to figure out a different way of blogging, but sadly, this pas week not so much blogging happened--and I missed visiting you all throughout the week.

I did however manage to get some knitting done.

I finished my Short and Sweet glovelets--and have even worn them at work. Can you believe we are still having days of snow/rain mixed showers?
Umm--really looking forward to Spring here.

I also made great progress with my Esprit Tunic for Adelaide. At the time when this picture was taken, I am ready to start the collar band and separate the shoulder sections out--where I will continue working from the top down the back.

You can see the moss stitch tabs on the side which will be button tabs and the big gaping hole in the middle, where the stitches for the front pocket are being held on a purple thread. I almost knitted a version without the pocket but decided to live large and give the pocket a try. :)

Lastly, I am showing you the yarn I have chosen for my next dishcloth-which will be the Waffle Knit Dishcloth pattern.
I knit one of these for my mom for Christmas and loved it. It is great because it gives me a chance to practice changing yarn colors in the middle of a project.

I am off to visit my inspirations (you dear readers) and then read a little bit in Catching Fire, the 2nd book in the Hunger Games Trilogy--very captivating.

  2. Great finish on the glovelets, they are so gorgeous looking. The tunic will be finished in no time at all and the waffle dishcloth is a fab cloth isn't it. I have one in use in my kitchen and gifted some of this pattern Its a good all rounder and I'm sure changing colours will be no problem for you.

  3. Love your new hours. Used to work similar hours back in my hospital days, though only got a weekend off a month, the 10 hour days I thought were great...giving you the extra day off. Hope it works out for you. Love the gloves, and the colors you've chosen for your next dishcloth.

  4. Hooray! Fingerless mitts are done! I love that dip in the lace pattern where it'll hit your forearms.
