Year of Projects: still chugging along

Happy Sunday, lovely readers!
Here in the US, it is Mother's Day and I was blessed today to have 2 of my boys at church with me, and then the treat of being taken out to lunch by them, my husband and one of the boys' girlfriend. I truly believe that the most important thing I have done in my life was become a mother and raise 4 great people. :)

This past Friday, I was also blessed to help my best friend get her daughter married off!  It was a beautiful wedding, she was a gorgeous bride, and the groom is a terrific man.  I was so glad to be able to help my friend pull the event off without a hitch. (It was surely pay back for all the wonderful things she did to help me when my daughter got married 6 years ago!)  But you can imagine that all that took away knitting time!

I have been plugging away on my charity blanket, and I am determined to get it finished this week.  I am in the mood to start some summer knits--or quite possibly some Christmas gift knitting! (shh...don't tell anyone I said the C word already!)

Next weekend is our South Sound Yarn Crawl--8 yarn shops in one day, with 3 great friends, will be a fun day for sure.  Part of my Mother's Day gift from my husband today was money to spend on yarn!  He is a definitely a keeper!

The other thing I am looking forward to doing again soon is some dishcloth knitting--I have fallen off the challenge wagon, so to speak but I received an email yesterday that provided the motivation I needed....from the Lily's Sugar & Cream website. I can't link directly to the patterns they sent me as they are PDF's, but trust me, they are bright and cheerful.  (My daughter was here this weekend and saw my little basket containing the ones I had done so far this year, and asked me what I would be doing with them if I am not using them myself.  I told I don't know--but I love seeing them there! :) I secretly thinks she is hoping for some!  )  If you click the link above and create an account at Lily's, you will have access to lots of free patterns.

Until next time--happy knitting!

  1. Bright little dishcloths will be such instant gratitude while chugging through that charity blanket. That blue is brilliant BTW.
Glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day.
