Yarn Along

Today I am linking up with Ginny over at Small Things Yarn Along event.  Books and knitting...doesn't get much better.

Middle of the week....Hooray!   I am kind of in between two worlds this week, both with my knitting and with my books.  Last week I posted a picture of a book called Moon Women which I had just started. While I like it well enough, it is a bit slow going, so I have picked up Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl also. This is one that I have had on the shelves for quite some while, and now feels like the right time to give it a go.  The weather here has been so dreary and almost Fall like that something more lighthearted is definitely needed!

On my needles, you can see my Waffle Knit Dishcloth, knit up using Sugar and Cream cotton. I think I will be keeping this cloth for myself, and have decided this is the pattern I will use for my Dishcloth Swap in August. It is a great little pattern and knits up beautifully.  The blue ball of yarn is one that I purchased on my yarn crawl, a few weeks back. It is Shibui/Heichi, and is 100% silk.  I plan on doing up a little tapered scarf, which was a free pattern we were given during the yarn crawl--but alas, no photo on the pattern page.

And that my friends is all the news I have to offer!  Happy Wednesday to you all....

  1. Glad to catch up with you again Kim, its been ages, life sure gets busy and in the way !. Deary weather I find always calls for more lighthearted reading and even I mix it up with some, which is not my norm genre.
Love the waffle knit cloth, its one of my favourite to use in the kitchen and knits up great! I am still doing the challenge just got a few weeks behind but I aim to catch up.

  2. We have sun here but a cool wind so it's like 55-57 degrees outside. Cute dishcloth.

  4. Like your cloth, and the challenge looks good, I've never knitted a cloth, but keep saying I'm going too.....maybe I should put some on my next YOP.

The silk sounds lovely, I don't think I've seen/felt anything that was 100% I guess it would have to be very carefully treated?

The weather here is awful today, heavy rain and wind, in fact one of th kids tents in the garden had blown down!

  5. I love the waffle knit dishcloth ... which reminds me that I keep wanting to cast on some cotton and get going with a set of dishcloths! Thanks for inspiring me to get on with it. ; )
