Year of Projects: potpourri

Greetings!
I am trying to get a quick update posted, so I can go and visit all of you.....

We had a lovely little mini-vacation and are home now enjoying the Olympics.  It is such a wonderfully freeing feeling to know I have all of next week off from work ---and even though we are having some grayish kind of summer days, we will do our best to ignore that fact!

I  am working like crazy on my Ravellenics project~~~ a pair of Short & Sweet Fingerless Mitts.  I am gifting these to a family member for Christmas.

And yes! You read that correctly, I am working on Christmas knitting and feeling quite proud of myself. :)

Before the Olympics started I worked like crazy to get my 5 dishcloth swap cloths finished--and ta-da!
I was successful.  I must admit that I am a little sad to be sending these off though-I am really in love with them!

I also was able to finish the owlie cabled baby hat to go with my Owlie sack. I am very relieved that I finished these as the baby shower will be held the week I get back to work. It is a very satisfying feeling to know I have this gift finished well ahead of schedule!

And last but not least, I was able to work a bit on my scrappy, stripey Wonder Blanket.

Happy fiber wishes sent to you--and for a giggle, I share with you a snap I took of 2 year old Adelaide, showing me her owl mask, last week:

  2. So glad you enjoyed your break-away, I do hope that you have a week of sunshine and relaxation for your time off from work......it does make such a difference when the sun shines doesn't it.

The little hat to go with the sack is lovely and so are your cloths all piled up there.

I can see me doing a wonder blanket sometime, I have so many bits, I'm sure I could make something out of them

Enjoy the games, the kids and I have been watching it in th evening and it's been so enjoyable.

  4. Kim, you are doing so well on all of your projects and getting them done. Whomever gets your dishcloths will be a very lucky person. And the mitts you are knitting are very pretty. Love the color and the pattern that you have chosen.

Miss "A" cracked me up with that owl hat.
