Honestly! I don't know where the weeks go! Here it is, Sunday again.
It has been a little stressful around here since Friday night, when I got a call from my son at around 1:00 AM saying that he had been hit on the freeway by a big pick-up truck and that truck decided to run. My boy was able to get the car home, amazingly, as the truck that hit him was probably going about 80 miles an hour and the big miracle is that my son was not badly injured. He does have a bit of whiplash and I will send him to doctor for some lower back pain....but to say we are upset and a bit irritated is an understatement. This car was to be passed down to Sam this Fall as he needs it to get to and from school-and now we are left with scrambling to find money to purchase another little car. This car which was hit is 25 years old and we will not be getting much from the insurance company to put towards a new one.... grrrrr...
But --the knitting part of my life is going along just swimmingly and I do find that knitting tends to center me a bit when life begins to stress me out. I showed on Thursday that my Ictis Shawl is completed and I am in love with it! I enjoyed Bev's pattern so much that I am in the process of choosing a second shawl pattern by her to use some lovely yarn I recently purchased.
My current cast on is the 3rd of the 3 Milo Vests I have been working on since May for my sweet Grandys-I finished the first two and then took a break, but Fall is quickly approaching and these are meant for cool weather wearing.
As I was struggling with the whole car situation, along with the heat and very high humidity we were experiencing yesterday I found a little package in the mail!!
Ordered from Etsy, earlier in the week! They went a long way to brightening my mood. xxoxo
That, my lovelies, is all I have for you today. I am off to do some errands and then will be able to make the rounds visiting later this evening.
