What am I reading?
What am I knitting?
Take a gander......
My book: A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy.
I have been holding on to this book since January --- wanting to put off reading until just the right time, because you see, it is the last book to be published by Maeve. She passed away a year ago, and what a treasure the reading world lost. She will forever be my favorite author. If you like character driven stories, then she is for you. She deftly develops her characters all the while drawing you into their story, and there are always multiple characters and story lines whirling around. In the end, she ties them all up together and you are left feeling very satisfied, if not a little sad that the read is over. The happy news is that I own all of her books, many in hardback and I can re-read them anytime I wish. I am not usually a re-reader, but Binchy I will!
My needles: Milo Vest #3
I love my three granddaughters but the one downside to having 3, is that it is not all that fun to knit 3 of the same thing if your aim is to do something matching--2 was difficult, 3 is pushing it for me. So while I know I will always knit for my little darlings, matching probably won't happen again! :) This is a quick and easy pattern and I love doing the picot edge sleeve bind-off to match the picot hem I will do in the end. This Milo is for the middle girl, Amelia.
I am using Knit Picks City Tweed-which is very nice to work with...so soft and squishy. I went down a needle size for the garter yoke section and I am happy with how much tighter and neater the garter turns out. You can see the other two Milos, HERE.
